Tales from space
"Tales from Space" is a series of short stories, united by vector illustrations
into a collection of images about space. These are small stories, reflections on the modern
world through the lens of other worlds. The illustrations became part of a larger project,
"Density of Emptiness," and were presented using augmented reality technology at a group exhibition in several cities.
The
Beginning
The running lines were joined in the center by the word “Beginning” and then scattered again with random pixels.
Hera stared at the screen. “Damn, I got to get out of here! Megapolis will swallow you and not choke.
Corporations are always on the lookout. They won't let you get away from your fucking screen.
Not that they’re watching you. No, no, nothing like that. Either you're in the system, or it'll spit
you out like old chewed-up gum. Look at the screen! There's what you're looking for. Well, if not, just go to hell. ”
Interplanetary
Arrivals
Our hotel has the best view you've ever seen.
We realise this sounds like a cheap advert, but see for yourself.
The Interplanetary Drifting Travel Hub provides thousands of sleeping pods for holidays,
but only thirteen lucky people in one night win the chance to stay with us.
In the colder season, you’ll even be able to observe the circulation of red electric fish while seated in a massage chair, sipping a hot drink.
Admit it, it’s not quite the same as crowding together with unfamiliar aliens on an observation deck.
Electrical
Fishes
Another small fish is drawn to the lantern drifting on the stone shard.
A huge red fish of fish took it in its tail.
All together they moved in a circle and fed on the light.
With each circle the little fish gets bigger and closer to her head. Just a little longer and she'll be in charge.
The little fish doesn't know yet that after being fed with the electric light to the full,
it will not stay in the pack and will fall into the darkness as a red light.
Red electric fish do not know yet or have already forgotten that they are just food for passing spaceships like "Jellyfish".
Spaceship
Jellyfish
The spaceship "Jellyfish" jerks along among countless stars in the darkness.
Unfortunately, it is far more lonely than a sea jellyfish.
Unless you count space debris and dust, drifting lanterns, and one-way ticket capsules discarded by planets,
Space "Jellyfish" has absolutely no one to be friends with.
Except with red electric fish. However, it's frustratingly hard to be friends when your friend is your food.
Alien
Seas
We got lucky with the parking lot. Not many wanderers here this time of year.
But let me tell you, the beaches here are bleak. The sand is packed down as tightly as asphalt.
The sterile cleanliness is annoying. And the alien seas - they're strange - lie motionless with huge gasoline puddles.
But before you can blink, such a sea will lick away anything it deems superfluous, even you, if it so desires.
After which, it will gurgle and again be covered with a film again, sometimes iridescent.
Electrical
Snail
I know all the places where cameras are set up. There are too many to count, but I know how to avoid being caught.
I only distinguish light from dark, but that’s enough to always stay in the shadows. I can’t hear,
but I sense things through touch. I’m always in motion. I don’t know what would happen if I stopped.
Some say that nothing would change. But I’m afraid to find out. I’m afraid there would be no one left to keep hiding.
Density of Emptiness
Art project with Augmented Reality.
Exibition of paintings where no paintings.
The picture appears when you point your phone to the label.
The "Density of Emptiness" project immerses the viewer into an augmented reality space,
pushing them beyond the conventional experience of art. The only mediator between the viewer
and the artist's world — between real and virtual space — is the smartphone.
Through the Alchemy AR app, and by way of the black square of the "Emptiness Space,"
the viewer finds themselves face-to-face with a hidden artwork.
Since 2019, the collective exhibition titled "Density of Emptiness" has traveled
across various cities in Russia, maintaining its original name each time.
